The original 17th century farmhouse, forming part of a range of traditional slate/stone buildings, was sympathetically restored in 2002 to provide the 'Old House Cottage' (Yr Hen Ty Bwthyn).
Tastefully furnished throughout with co-ordinating decor, the cottage is equipped to the highest standards with double glazing and full oil-fired central heating throughout. The boiler also provides hot water on demand - keeping costs down.
The comfortable living/dining room features a wood burning stove, exposed beams and stone work. Facilities include colour TV, VCR and music centre. Furnished with attractive pine dining suite including a dresser (buffet/hutch) the large table comfortably seats 8. Two comfortable 3 seater sofas plus occasional tables and chairs surround the fireplace with wood burning stove.
The separate fully fitted Maple kitchen includes dishwasher, microwave, fast ceramic hob cooker with double oven, and fridge/freezer. The adjoining utility area provides laundry facilities comprising a washing machine, tumble dryer, iron and ironing board.
The porch between the kitchen and utility room is ideal for storing wellington boots and a place for smokers to enjoy a puff!
The double, twin and en-suite family bedrooms accommodate up to 8 adults. The twin room has bunk* beds the double room is romantically furnished. These rooms share a linked central bathroom with spa bath and shower over. The family room with en-suite spa bath and shower over, has a double bed and bunk* beds (with privacy screen between the two). It also benefits from a sitting area with TV/VCR, and a patio area.
* All bunk beds are adult size (915mm wide) and the top bunk can be removed if a single bed is required (please specify on booking).
To the front of the cottage there is a large patio and parking area providing level access to the front door and kitchen door at the side.
Due to the differing ground levels around the cottage, the twin and family rooms have external level access.
Just 4 miles from the Heritage coastline and award winning beaches, and close to many other attractions.
Excellent small supermarket 2 miles away, village shop 1 mile away, and speciality organic/welsh produce shop 2 miles. Neighbouring trout farm for fresh and smoked trout and salmon, and other smoked produce (with delightful 3 acre trout fishing lake if you want to catch your own!)
