On the hillside above Rectory Cottage, there are panoramic views of the Severn Estuary across to Somerset and the characteristically distinctive peaks of the Brecon Beacons and the Black Mountains - as well as a view of the whole of the Vale of Usk over to the Wye Valley and the Forest of Dean.

The location is perfect for walking, cycling, boating, sailing, canoeing, golf, fishing, pony trekking - even paragliding and hot air ballooning. Visit numerous ancient castles, including Chepstow and Raglan, and iron age hillforts - timeless, beautiful Tintern Abbey - the Roman amphitheatre, baths and other remains at Caerleon and Caerwent - as well as the delightful historic towns of Abergavenny, Usk, Raglan, Monmouth, Chepstow and Hay-on-Wye. Caerleon is even purported to have been the court of legendary King Arthur and his knights. Experience going down a real coal mine at Big Pit and the industrial heritage of Blaenavon World Heritage Site - or visit vineyards, food festivals, farmers markets, antique shops or flea markets and craft centres.

Also convenient for Cardiff (22 miles) Bristol (40 miles) Hereford (30 miles) and the Golden Valley. Easily accessible from M4 and M50 motorways.
