The National Museum & Gallery, Cardiff is unique among British museums and galleries in its range of art and science displays.

The Art Galleries provide magnificent settings for works by some of the world's most famous artists, including the Impressionists.

The Glanely Gallery is a hands-on interactive area with state-of-the-art equipment to help you examine items from the Museum's collections that are normally hidden away, as well as hosting special events, workshops and talks.

'The Evolution of Wales' exhibition takes you on a spectacular 4600 million year journey of Wales from the very beginning of time to the present day.

In the 'Natural History in Wales', you can see birds, animals and plants at the seashore, and visit woods in the summer and winter.

In our Archaeology Galleries there are displays of Bronze Age gold, early Christian monuments, Celtic treasures, silver coins and medals, ceramics, fossils and minerals.

A varied programme of temporary exhibitions and events complements our permanent collections throughout the year. For a programme telephone 029 2057 3471.

The National Museum & Gallery Cardiff is located in Cathays Park, at the heart of Cardiff's elegant civic centre. Admission is free.
