Visit and experience one of Europe's largest regeneration schemes.
We invite you to the Cardiff Bay Visitor Centre to learn how the city's docklands have been transformed into to what is now known as Cardiff Bay, the Millennium Waterfront.
Entry to the Cardiff Bay Visitor Centre is free and since its opening in 1991 it has attracted over 3 million visitors to the waterfront area. Within the centre there is a large model of Cardiff Bay, it is the largest architectural model of its kind in the UK
Visitors to the centre can watch a promotional video on the giant state-of-the-art video wall. Current exhibitions include the ULTRA , a model of a futuristic transport system planned for Cardiff and the Bay area, and models of the new debating chamber for the National Assembly for Wales and the Wales Millennium Centre, which opened in November 2004.
Should visitors require a more detailed interpretation of Cardiff Bay, the visitor centre has its own resident tour guide who can conduct a walking, coach or boat tour around the whole development area.
Places visited include the Millennium Waterfront, the historical Mount Stuart Square / Old Tiger Bay, Penarth Marina and the Cardiff Bay Barrage.
