One of the five 'Beacon Churches' of South Wales (the others are Llandaff Cathedral, Margam Abbey, Ewenny Priory, and Llanilltyd Fawr).
Fine landmark 15th cent. tower close to the city centre's covered market, and Cardiff Castle. Founded 1180, re-built after destruction by the forces of Owain Glyndwr. Focus for visitors and city centre workers to worship, also venue for concerts, art exhibitions, lectures.
