National Whale and Dolphin Watch is an annual event when members of the public are invited to observe the sea and look for the 28 species of whales, dolphins and porpoises known to visit British waters. Their sightings are collected by the Sea Watch Foundation to aid its research into the effects of marine pollution, climate change, over-fishing and other factors on our native cetaceans.
